I have more than 20 years of teaching experience to students with diverse backgrounds in the middle school and college levels. I have 18 doctorate units in English Studies, a Master's degree in Literature, and a BA in English. I have improved student scores in standardized tests based on the new Common Core Curriculum. To foster a student's commitment to lifelong learning, I set high expectations but realistic goals by developing the student's critical thinking skills, comprehension, and logical thinking skills. I like to tutor students who want to improve themselves by challenging them to succeed.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
