My name is Sarah. I have 11 years of teaching and tutoring experience working with a wide range of students from pre-K to college. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. I have a flexible schedule, but only tutor out of the Vacaville Libraries. I do have a 1-hour minimum requirement for all sessions and the first 5 minutes of after session discussion is free of charge. Sessions can go as long as you want as long as it works with my schedule. I have a 1-hour cancellation policy. A 30 minute cancellation is a half an hour charge. If there is no cancellation you will be charged for the full session. I look forward to meeting and helping many students.
In 2011, I graduated from University of Phoenix with a BS in Business Management. I am continuing at the same college to obtain an MA in Education with concentrations in Elementary, Secondary Math, English, and History, as well as Special Education.
I love teaching. I have experience working with children with learning disabilities. My own son has developmental and learning disabilities. I believe that all students learn in their own way, so I am open-minded to the needs of each individual student. I care about my students succeeding and accomplishing what they want. With the right help, they can reach the stars. My name is Sarah. I have 11 years of teaching and tutoring experience working with a wide range of students from pre-K to college. I've only met with Sarah on two occasion but I'm understanding the formulas more because she take the time to walk me through the steps. She's very patient and I really appreciate that. I look forward to my regular sessions twice a week this and next semester. My Professor complimented me today because she notice major improvements with my Algebra work.
Thank you, Sarah!
Sarah has been a HUGE help in my daughters overall improvement in her grades. She has given my daughter some great tools to make her feel more confident in what she is doing and it shows with her GPA. Than you Sarah!
I just began Accounting and quite honestly it looks like another language to me. Sarah made sure before I moved on to any other steps in my equations that I understood exactly why I was making the decisions I was on the initial steps at hand. I honestly cannot wait for our next session together. She's amazing!
Excellent instruction, helpful and patient. Sarah is familiar with the use of formulas and statistics technology, which was great. I will definitely use Sarah again and I appreciate your help!
Sarah is very patient and very thorough in her tutoring. She is dedicated in her work as well as well-organized. I would recommend Sarah to anyone who's looking for a tutor. She has helped my son raise his grade in his math class. Thank you so much, Sarah!
Sarah goes above and beyond when it comes to tutoring my daughter with her 9th grade math lesson. She researches in advance any work she's missing. She stays on top of what goes on in class by accessing my daughter's school loop (with my permission of course.) She texts me to ask how she did on her last test. She offers for my daughter to contact her if she needs help before the next lesson. Sarah's patient with my daughter and is always prepared with plenty of resources available if needed. Sarah's very organized and even assists my daughter to keep organized when it comes to her completed work. She makes sure my daughter understands the concept before moving on. Sarah's been great and definitely a big help for us!
Sarah has done a good job working with my son the last couple of months. He struggles in math and her support is making all the difference. His grade is slowly coming back up and she is always willing to accommodate our schedule and need for extra time when needed. We appreciate her help very much.
I'm struggling with Elementary Algebra and Sarah has helped me a lot. She is patient and clearly explains math problems.
My 7th grade daughter is tutored by Sarah twice a week for one hour sessions. Helping her with homework (math in particular) is like pulling teeth, extremely stressful to the point where I find myself doing the work for her just to get it done. It really helps having Sarah help her figure it out on her own. After the first session, when I picked my daughter up she walked out with a huge smile on her face! She was so proud she got her homework done! She said, "and she didn't even give me the answers!". Sarah has made it easier on me and my wife at home and for my daughter as well. With Sarah's help she has gained confidence in completing her work on her own and realizing that learning can actually be fun!
Thank you for being so patient with my child. I appreciate your calmness and patience. You are an awesome instructor. Thank you!
Ms. Sarah is very knowledgeable and shows it through her patience with the child. I am looking forward to her helping my son to become the very best of what he can be.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
