My name is Anna Marie. I have an M.F.A. from Claremont Graduate University which is the equivalent of a PHD as it is the highest I can achieve in my field. I am a professional artist. I have taught at The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Huntington Beach Art Center and The School of Arts and Enterprise. My art studio is located in Pomona. I use many different mediums to create my art work. My paintings are very textured 3-D paintings. I also sculpt stone and clay. I use chandeliers and mirrors in my art work to create dynamic 3-D paintings and sculptures.I have had many art shows in galleries. I have traveled to Italy, Spain, France and Monaco to explore the culture and art work.
I am proficient in tutoring any type of visual art practice and art history. Art is a critical part of education. Self expression and creativity enhance academia by allowing the student to see and think in different ways. Art strengthens confidence and decision making skills. Art enhances critical thinking and analysis while being fun and exciting!
When I was in grade school I excelled in reading out loud. I was asked to hep my fellow classmates with their reading skills. In college, I worked in the Learning Resource Center as an English tutor where I helped many college students write, proofread, and formulate their papers. I helped many of them with their reading skills too!
I have taught art to students as young as 3 years old and some students into their 60's. I graduated from one of the top schools in the country with my art degree. I have taught at museums, art centers and schools.
I am here to help with you with your art practice. I remember what it was like to be insecure and frustrated about my artwork. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
