I am passionate about living a life of learning. Therefore, nothing brings me more joy than to see a student embrace all of the possibilities that knowledge brings. My experience outside and inside the classroom has typically focused on the subject of English, which is another passion of mine. I followed my passion of English throughout the years of my education and have received a Master's Degree in English and Literature. I also taught Freshman English for several years in the private school arena and loved every minute of it. Having worked in an environment where one on one time with students was encouraged, I can attest to the power of focused attention coupled with the belief that every student has the potential to be better than they already are.
I specialize in the subject of English, which includes: Grammar, Literature, Writing, Reading etc. I also have an extensive background in Biblical Studies and have been surrounded by that subject matter for nearly all of my education/life. Whether we are reviewing grammar rules or learning how to write a thesis statement, my goal as an instructor is to work at the pace of my student while continuing to stretch and challenge him or her. I believe in setting educational goals during the first few sessions so that expectations are clear and success can be easily determined. I also believe that learning never stops. Therefore, working together as a team with a student's teacher and parent(s) is essential for success.
I hold myself to a level of excellence and therefore will typically ask for feedback regarding the completion of educational goals. I will not charge for an unsatisfactory outcome.
I do ask for a minimum of a one hour notice of cancellation. I try to be as available as possible for tutoring, but we can discuss the hours that you are looking for and arrange them from that point.
I am also willing to travel to a location that you are comfortable with or in a library nearby.
I look forward to meeting with you and for the knowledge we both will gain!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
The vast majority of my education has included Biblical Studies. I attended private school from Kindergarten all the way through High School and studied Biblical subjects in my undergraduate education. Biblical Studies has been a part of my education both inside and outside of the classroom all throughout my life. In order to attain my Bachelor's degree, I was required to complete 59 units of Biblical Studies as well.
I have a Master's degree in English. In the past, I taught English for a private school for several years.
