In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

In Algebra 1 students will learn how to identify and do the operations on real numbers. Also, they will learn to know how to solve and graph the linear equations, inequalities and system of two equations and inequalities.

In Algebra 2 students will learn how to identify the mathematical concepts such as real and complex numbers as well as absolute value. They are able to do the operations on those numbers in monomials and polynomials.

They also learn how to solve and graph quadratic equations by factoring, completing the square, or using the quadratic formula, including in the complex numbers. Student knows how to apply these techniques in solving word problems.

Knowledge and skills in Geometry are essential and useful for students, especially those who are ready to go on to Algebra or Precalculus.

Indeed, in Geometry students are introduced to learn how to understand and master the concepts as well as examples of undefined terms, axioms, theorems, and inductive and deductive reasoning. Also, they are able to write geometric proofs, including proofs by contradiction. They are able to prove that triangles are congruent or similar, and to use the concept of corresponding parts of congruent triangles.

Moreover, students can prove and use theorems involving the properties of parallel lines cut by a transversal, the properties of quadrilaterals, and the properties of circles. They also know, derive, and solve problems involving perimeter, circumference, area, volume, lateral area, and surface area of common geometric figures. They skills comprise computing the volumes and surface areas of prisms, pyramids, cylinders, cones, and spheres; committing to memory the formulas for prisms, pyramids, and cylinders.

Pre algebra paves a path for students going on with Algebra 1 and 2 smoothly and confidently. Therefore, by the end of the level of pre algebra, students are able to be adept at manipulating numbers and equations and understand the general principles at work.

Students make numbers sense and use factoring of numerators and denominators and properties of exponents. Factoring a numbers is the basic step for them to do some operations on fractions as well as know how to reduce fractions.

They have so far known and used different representations of fractional numbers (fractions, decimals, and percents) and are proficient at changing from one to another.

They increase their facility with ratio and proportion, compute percents of increase and decrease, and compute simple and compound interest.

They are also introduced to the Pythagorean theorem and solve problems in which they compute the length of an unknown side of a right triangle.

In terms of applied geometry students know how to compute the surface area and volume of basic three-dimensional objects and understand how area and volume change with a change in scale. Students make conversions between different units of measurement.

Undoubtedly, Precalculus course prepares for students entering into Calculus-the mathematics of changes. Not being ready, students can't study calculus successfully.

Therefore, in Precalculus, students will be introduced to the important and basic mathematical concepts inquired before in algebra with deeper and higher details. They comprise, but not limited in, inequalities, equations, absolute values, and graphs of lines and circles.

Students also focus on functions and their graphs. Precalculus introduces to students some of very important functions that they will see very frequently in application problems in sciences, techniques and daily life. They are the functions of trigonometry, exponent, logarithm. Precalculus also goes further in elementary geometry such as graphs of parabolas, ellipse and hyperbolas.

At last, it is comparatively enough for precalculus includes the concepts of limit that is fundamental for differential and integral, which are the cores of calculus.
