I recently graduated cum laude from Rice University with a Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Sciences and a minor in Spanish. In the fall, I plan on beginning a master's in Human-Computer Interaction at University College London. I have four years of experience helping middle school, high school, and college students in various subjects, including Math, Science, Writing, Spanish, and the ACT.

I have tutored high school students in the ACT for two years. I myself scored a 34, with perfect scores in English and Reading, but I can help with all four subsections. Using the official ACT prep guide, I like to go through practice tests with the students I tutor in order to identify the content areas they are struggling with. After reviewing subject material and building content skills in Math, Science, English, and Reading, I then focus on test-taking strategies such as time management, organization, and prioritization in order to maximize scores. My ultimate goal is to help students feel academically confident by test time, enabling them to get their goal scores immediately and focus on other parts of the college application process.

I have also tutored college students for three years as a peer academic advisor at Rice University. This mainly involved helping students on an informal basis with homework questions and test prep in Spanish, English, and Psychology, but I have also helped students in their calculus, statistics, and biology classes. For college-level tutoring, I like to work together on material and answer questions as they come up in a session. My top priority is to help students understand content without simply giving away answers, developing a deep understanding of the subject they are studying. I can also help with general study strategies and essay editing if needed.

As a tutor, I want to benefit students as much as possible. Establishing personal connections and helping develop academic confidence are extremely important to me. Feel free to message me with any questions or to schedule a lesson. I
