Hi my name is Katherine. I tutor a wide variety of subjects including math, science, and writing. I have hundreds of hours of tutoring experience primarily with middle and high school students. I enjoy helping students grasp material and to feel empowered in their education. I also believe that learning can be enjoyable and try to make the process as beneficial as possible. I am very patient and understand that each student has his or her own way of learning. I tailor tutoring to specific needs and styles of learning, and use a variety of tools including explanation, review, ties to overall material, analogies to illustrate a concept, many examples, and practical test questions. I can tailor to online resources that are engaging and helpful.

I enjoy applying math and science principles to practical real life situations. I try to create examples that are relatable to help students grasp the concepts. It is rewarding for me when students gain mastery. I believe that having a strong background in basic subjects prepares everyone for successful careers, and I am happy to help those along the path.

I have been an Assistant Teacher for elementary school students, and spent hundreds of hours tutoring middle and high school students on mathematics, science, and English/writing. I have also tutored at the college level on specific subjects, and can help with research methods, psychology, and more. I have a masters degree from Stanford University and enjoy teaching a variety of multidisciplinary subjects.
