Look no further. Put my experience as an educator and a tutor to work for you or the struggling student in your life.

When it comes to tutoring, experience counts. It's one thing to do well in a subject as a student; it's another thing to have taught the subject. I have been teaching and tutoring for over 20 years, from the elementary level all the way through college. I am a National Board Certified High School English/Language Arts teacher and have taught all levels of High School English, Journalism, and SAT Prep; 3rd, 4th and 5th grade at the elementary level, and middle school math.

I have tutored students from elementary school through college on a variety of subjects including: reading, writing, history, science, and all levels of math. I have also worked with students on organization and study skills. However, I think my strongest quality as a teacher and tutor is to foster a positive attitude towards learning, to make the learning experience fun, exciting, and easy to understand, and to give the students a solid sense of accomplishment.

If you are looking for a tutor in just about any subject area, at any level, feel free to contact me. If I don't feel knowledgeable enough to tutor you in the subject, I would be happy to refer you to one of my many colleagues who tutor in a variety of disciplines.

Fees are negotiable, and discounts are given for group tutoring sessions.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am qualified to tutor elementary students because I have taught elementary school full-time at several levels (3rd, 4th and 5th grade). I have also tutored students in a variety of subjects in these grade levels as well. Whether it's math, language arts, science, social studies, or any subject covered in elementary school, I have been able to make learning fun for students and have built their confidence by providing them instant success in mastering various concepts.

Lacrosse

I am qualified to help athletes with their lacrosse skills based on my experience as a player in high school and college, as well as my experience as a middle school and high school coach. As a player, I have played every position on the field, although I spent most of my time playing as a goalkeeper in high school and as a midfielder in college. As a coach, I worked as an assistant as well as a head coach of several lacrosse teams, and was responsible for teaching players lacrosse skills and tactics, as well as emphasizing physical fitness and good sportsmanship.

Study Skills

I am qualified to tutor students in study skills based on my experience as a student, tutor, and teacher. When I was a student, I utilized numerous approaches to studying, including notecards, pneumonic devices and focused study activities. As a long-time tutor and teacher of multiple levels, from elementary through college, I have helped countless students develop regular, successful study strategies to facilitate their academic success.

Jason 's tutoring really works — I went with My daughter to have a trial lesson with Jason in August 2015. After that we both started to like his way of teaching. So when he started, I do not need to involve much, they worked out a plan to teach/learn each week. Jason helped my daughter with her SAT Essay writing and is still helping her occasionally with her English Language class. In a few months, my daughter has improved a l ...
