Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

College Counseling

I have my Master of Education in School Counseling which includes helping students through the college application process, choosing majors, and career counseling. In addition, I have worked as a mentor for University of Maryland undergraduate students in tutoring, leading workshops on GPA boosters, and how to get involved in positive campus life.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have worked at a tutoring center before as a tutor for students grades K-6. I have also done classroom teaching for students K-6 as a student teacher, and received my Bachelor of Arts minor in Education K-12 and Master of Education for students grades K-12.

Public Speaking

I am qualified in public speaking because as a school counselor and previous program coordinator I have had to host various events, consult and collaborate with different parties, and give presentations about various projects. I have also taught numerous classroom lessons to students K-12 in which I had to deliver an effective lesson to a classrooms averaging 25 students.
