About Ace Oliver

I have been teaching for more than 10 years. From elementary to high school, general education curriculum and special education. Currently, I am teaching 7th grade Pre-Algebra.

I have taught SDC Elementary from 2002-2013. Grades ranging from K-5. Currently, I am a 7th Grade SDC teacher teaching Math (Pre-Algebra), Read 180 as a reading intervention, and Life Science.

I have been teaching students with special needs (Mild/Moderate/Severe Disabilities) for more than 10 years. The eligibility of my students range from Specific Learning Disabilities, Autism, Speech and Language Impairments, Other Health Impairments (ADD/ADHD), and Emotional Disturbance. I have my Masters in Special Education and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology.

Supporting students and making learning a fun experience has always been my goal. It always gives me inspiration when I see my students progressing.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ADD/ADHD

I am currently a Special Education Teacher of a Special Day Class in 7th grade. I have been teaching students with special needs (Mild/Moderate/Severe Disabilities) for more than 10 years. The eligibility of my students range from Specific Learning Disabilities, Autism, Speech and Language Impairments, Other Health Impairments (ADD/ADHD), and Emotional Disturbance. I have my Masters in Special Education and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology.

I am knowledgeable with different strategies that can be implemented in order for a child with Attention Deficit Disorder/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder to be more successful socially and academically.

Aspergers

I have been teaching students with special needs (Mild/Moderate/Severe Disabilities) for more than 10 years. The eligibility of my students range from Specific Learning Disabilities, Autism (Aspergers, PDD-NOS, Mod/Sev Autism), Speech and Language Impairments, Other Health Impairments (ADD/ADHD), and Emotional Disturbance. I have my Masters in Special Education and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. I also have an Education Specialist Teaching Credential for K-12 with Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe Disabilities. Aspergers is classified under the Mild/Moderate area.

Autism

I have been teaching students with special needs (Mild/Moderate/Severe Disabilities) for more than 10 years. The eligibility of my students range from Specific Learning Disabilities, Autism (Aspergers, PDD-NOS, Mod/Sev Autism), Speech and Language Impairments, Other Health Impairments (ADD/ADHD), and Emotional Disturbance. I have my Masters in Special Education and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology.

I also have an Education Specialist Teaching Credential for K-12 with Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe Disabilities. Autism is classified under the the Moderate/Severe area with certification in Autism.

CBEST

I am a teacher in 7th Grade. I have passed the CBEST in April 2006 on all 3 areas (Math, English, Writing). CBEST is the initial requirement for the teaching profession.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have an Education Specialist Teaching credential for K-12 issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. I have passed the CBEST and CSET and also has a CLAD credential. I have been teaching for more than 15 years, where 10 of these years are in the elementary setting.

Elementary Math

I am currently teaching seventh grade. However, I have more than 10 years experience teaching in elementary education.

Elementary Science

I taught elementary for 10 years and now teaching 7th grade science. I am very familiar with elementary and middle school science curriculum.

Phonics

I have a K-12 Education Specialist Teaching Credential. I have taught Reading and Reading Intervention for several years in the K-3 setting. I am very well versed with different reading programs that help students in reaching their reading goals.

Reading

I am familiar with several reading programs that could be of benefit to your child to help improve his reading and writing as well.

Special Needs
