I am so deeply delighted to have found Marie-Andrée to help me revive my high school French. Whereas many tutors will simply fill each meeting with a mixture of spontaneous conversation and assigned grammar exercises, Marie-Andrée offers highly engaging, artfully-designed lessons that are organized around useful themes—internet culture, sleep habits, soccer. Every time we meet, we start with an off-the-cuff dialogue about a given theme, then we go over new vocabulary and grammar structures, and finally we take some time to integrate the new material in conversation. This ensures that I get to practice listening, speaking, and writing during each lesson, and there are always thoughtful written prompts as homework, which Marie-Andrée corrects before our next lesson. Marie-Andrée has also taken the time to design supplementary materials, including vocabulary lists and links to podcasts and readings, which has inspired me to integrate more French into my daily life. A very motivating, engaging teacher!
