I was looking for a Spanish tutor for my 15 year old son and went to Wyzant. The first tutor we selected was not receptive to coming to our home, nor did she want us to bring our son to her. Plus, she was not pleasant in both tone + content of her responses. I almost gave up right then but shortly thereafter Paul B. reached out to us and he is fabulous. So after finding one tutor that was not good, we finally found a GEM!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In junior high I played baseball for three years where I managed to make the City of Commerce all star team that toured 7 cities in Mexico representing The United States. I also played one year junior varsity and two years varsity for Bell Gardens High School. Upon graduation I received a letter from the Los Angeles Dodger's organization stating that I had been scouted for team tryouts. I didn't make the team but it was a wonderful experience.
I played junior high basketball for three years where I was named most valuable player every year. I also achieved the "Athlete of the Year" award my third year there. In high school I played basketball for three years where I again was voted the most valuable player by my coaches. During college I became a coach for the City of Commerce Parks and Recreation Department where I coached boys and girl of all age groups along with being a referee when needed.
I am a California school teacher with a Bilingual Multiple Subjects Credential. (Spanish). I have taught school for 30 years and have taught thousands of children in math, English, ESL, history, science, and p.e. I have also run a bilingual program at many schools where I would transition the children from total Spanish to complete immersion in English in three years. (documentation/resume available).
I received the top "Athlete of the Year" award in junior high where I excelled in baseball, flag football, and baseball. In high school I lettered in varsity baseball two years and was scouted by the Los Angeles Dodgers at 17 years of age. I would love to work with your child in softball and look foward to meeting you. Thank you.
