My name is Michael and I am a full-time college professor specializing in Organic Chemistry. I have over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience. Hundreds of students have gone through my classroom, many of them desiring to enter the medical field. Whatever your career goals may be, I want to help you become confident in o chem and succeed!

During my graduate studies at UCR, I taught undergraduate o chem labs in addition to tutoring students adding up to hundreds of hours of experience. I have been a full-time faculty member at a 4-year liberal arts university in Riverside, CA since 2012 where I have taught g chem and o chem. Organic chemistry is a subject that relies so heavily on foundational concepts that, when grasped, can make the experience a little bit easier and you might just be awestruck at how cool organic chemistry really is.

I tell my students on day one that my job is to provide them with the tools to solve any problem that they've never seen before--I want to provide you with these tools. My approach in the classroom and with students that I tutor is not one of memorization. Rather, organic chemistry actually becomes easier if one focuses on learning the foundational concepts and then applying those concepts to any problem they come up against. I firmly believe that every student is unique, and there isn't a "one size fits all" approach to o chem. This is why my tutoring sessions with you will be custom-tailored to your learning style. Maybe you have a handle on the basic concepts and all you need is reinforcement. I can provide you with problems to ensure that you're confident with those topics. Perhaps you are frazzled from all the new o chem topics and you have no idea where to start. I will develop a personalized plan that will include methods for grasping these new concepts, study tactics, as well as additional problems to work through.
