Solano Community College (Electronics)
I began tutoring Beginning Math students while a Student at Solano Community College after completing my first year towards an Associate's Degree in Electronics and completion of a one year class in Electronics Math. Since graduation in 2001 from Solano Community College, I have provided part-time tutoring through the California State Department of Rehabilitation for several college students, and have also worked with High School students in Algebra and Geometry. I taught Cross-Stitch and various other Needlework items for two years(1990-1992) while stationed at Howard Air Force Base in the Republic of Panama. I currently run a mobile computer repair service to supplement my retirement income from twenty years service in the United States Air Force, and disability income from the Veterans Administration.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was stationed at Howard Air Force Base in the Republic of Panama from April 1990 to April 1992 in the US Air Force. While stationed there, I made a Sample of Cross-Stitch for the Arts and Crafts Center on base, and they asked me if I would teach a Class on Cross Stitch. I eventually put in 600 plus hours as a Volunteer Instructor for all Needlework types including Quilting, and assisted with establishing their inventory of Materials. I also designed and stitched several pieces for friends while I was there.
When I moved to California in 1996 I took an Industrial Math Class at a Construction Company I was currently employed by and scored 100% on the final exam. I then attended a Warehousing Course which also included Math and did well again. I started Solano Community College in 1999, and during my first year I completed Electronics Math which covered Basic thru Pre-Calculus. After my first year, I tutored Lower Math students at the Tutoring Center on Campus, and later Tutored several students in various math levels.
