Hello! I have over seven years' teaching a variety of subjects to students of all ages. I am a qualified and fully registered teacher in Australia and moved to the US permanently five months ago. I have both my Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Education and have worked as both a full time staff member, a tutor and part-time member of staff in four different schools. I would love to work with your family to help your child achieve the next level in their education - while always remembering to enjoy the learning process! Please contact me with any questions - I look forward to meeting you!
I have both in-classroom and private tutoring experience in these three fields. Being a professional actor, and extensively trained in voicework and public speaking, I can bring out the very best in your child by strengthening self confidence, identifying and promoting individual strengths, and building communication skills through articulation and vocal exercises.
I believe the voice is the expression of the soul. With training, exercise and guidance, it can be something that brings so much more than a pleasant tone or understanding of pitch. The voice can develop self confidence, commitment to a task, discipline and happiness. It can bring a child out from the shadows and it can be the key that unlocks a child stifled by the "normal" subjects that artistic individuals often struggle with at school. I believe vocal training and an appreciation of the Arts develops a child in so many ways, that it's importance is perhaps more pivotal than other "socially accepted" subjects. I am passionate about the voice, and as a vocal technician of over ten years, I strongly believe that tutoring in this area will deliver lifelong benefits.
I have over ten years' experience in live theatre in Australia and New Zealand. I have performed, read and tutored students in texts from Austen to Shakespeare, modern classics to Greek Tragedies. I believe that language and an appreciation of text promotes an appreciation of culture. A cultured and well-read individual is equipped to pass on experience and is considered a more respected and admired member of society. I will guide your student through these brilliant texts and communicate the meaning, the context and encourage a deeper understanding of the reasons this text is on their school reading list.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Extensive experience in teaching literature, both in public and private schools in Australia. Specialised in Shakespeare and classical texts.
