I strongly believe if you hire a qualified native-ASL tutor is the better choice. It is definitely worth for improving your signing skills. I have been teaching American Sign Language (ASL) since in my college years. Last year, I was playing a lead role as Juliet and also an ASL master at the same time at the theatre 'Romeo and Juliet' for Hollywood Fringe. In 2015-2016, I taught ASL at the private high school in Pasadena as a long term substitute teacher for four classes (about 30 students for each ASL I, II & III). I love working with various people. For a long time, I have been a 'Deaf Mentor' for the deaf children, young and older people who lost their hearing losses in later life and also families as well. Teaching is my passion and joy.

Stephanie helped me learn a list of 83 words. She was so patient and helpful, plus super easy to communicate with and arrange a meeting.
Thank you Stephanie!
It is amazing to learn sign language from someone who is natively deaf. I can tell I will be pushing myself harder so I can sign with her more quickly! So excited to continue my studies with Stephanie!
Stephanie is awesome! She is patient and doesn't make you feel rushed while signing. I've really enjoyed my lessons.
Stephanie is an incredibly talented teacher. My daughter and I have learned SO MUCH and the lesson FLYS by so quickly because we are having so much fun. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am profoundly Deaf since birth. My entire family is hearing and speaks Spanish. I am blessed enough to have a great loving and supportive family. I attended a mainstreamed deaf program in a public school and graduated from Maryland School for the Deaf. I am a great role model for the Deaf AND hearing community. I used to live in a large deaf community. To advocate towards the hearing community to raise Deaf awareness. I do have a rich experience & knowledge about the Deaf world, Deaf culture, and issues going on such as communication barriers, etc.
I have been signing since I was two and half years old. My speed sign is fast and fluent. I have been teaching hearing students from beginning to advanced ASL since early high school. I have also been teaching and a motivational speaker at various schools and college students at RIT, as well as one-on-one with interpreting students. They were wonderful students & fun to work with!
