About Jaslin

Being a top student isn’t easy, but it isn’t impossible either. That is something very important that I learned in my first few years at the University of the Pacific. Now, I am on track to begin a dual-degree graduate program at Pacific as a PharmD/MBA student this upcoming fall semester. My enthusiasm and passion for subjects such as Microbiology, Physiology, Organic Chemistry, as well as World History and English have fueled my drive for success. This enthusiasm and passion is something I have attempted to instill in all my students. I have several years of experience in tutoring throughout high school and college. During the latter, I have tutored college students in subjects such as Organic Chemistry and Physiology. I also have experience tutoring high school students in math and science courses, such as Geometry and Algebra 2, as well as SAT Math.

My objective as a tutor is to help each student utilize their strengths and reconstruct their weaknesses. As a student, I understand the struggle that many individuals face, but I also know that with the right guidance and support, even the toughest of courses will seem like a piece of cake. Each student has a different method of learning and understanding and I am committed to finding the right lesson plan that will best help the student reach their full potential. The summer season is the perfect time to take extra courses or even just get ahead for the upcoming school year, and I would be more than happy to help students achieve academic success in these courses!

Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have taken AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC in high school and received 5's (the highest possible score) on both AP examinations. Calculus is very heavily algebra-based, so I believe my strong background in algebra allowed me to succeed in these courses. I have also tutored several students in Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus.
In addition, I have also taken Physics in high school as well as at the University of the Pacific, where I received A's at both schools. My experiences in a college-level physics course only further my ability to tutor and help other students succeed in the same course.

American History

I have taken honors history courses in high school, as well as several university level history course, and I have received excellent marks in all of them. I have also tutored students in subjects such as World history and American history in the past.

Biology

I have taken several biology courses at an university level, including microbiology and human physiology. In addition, I have tutored several students in high school biology, helping one student raise their grade up 2 letter grades.

Chemistry

I have taken three semesters of general chemistry with lab and two semesters of organic chemistry with lab at the University of the Pacific. In addition, I have tutored multiple students in these subjects, as well as high school students in AP chemistry.

Elementary Math

I have tutored several elementary and middle school students, so I understand the patience and concentration a tutor requires for helping a student in that age group. In addition, I have taken and aced every math course I have taken, leading up to AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC.

Flute

I played the flute for over 8 years before "retiring". For 6 out of those 8 years, I held the responsibility of 1st chair. With this position, I was responsible for helping the rest of my section properly learn their parts and exercises.

Microbiology

As a pre-pharmacy undergraduate student, I was required to take upper division biology courses such as human physiology and microbiology. These courses have provided me with a strong basis in ecology, human biology, and microbiology. I have received high grades in all of these courses, between the A to B range.

I will also begin pharmacy school this fall at the University of the Pacific. I have been motivated to follow this career path because of my passion and interest in subjects such as microbiology and organic chemistry. Pharmacy school involves a heavy dose of both of these sciences, and I believe that my education has provided me with a strong basis to continue achieving high marks in graduate school as well.

Organic Chemistry

I have taken organic chemistry I and II in order to qualify for applying for pharmacy school. Since pharmacy school is heavily based on chemistry, I took my organic chemistry course very seriously. Even in a condensed 5 week summer course, I managed to continuously score some of the highest grades in my class on all 5 exams. I believe I am qualified to tutor in this subject, not only because I have extensive knowledge in the subject, but now I even have a passion for it.
