“**Great tutor!**”

Hello All,

My name is Jacob and I am one of the few out there who enjoys Mathematics and Statistics of any kind. I am a part-time middle school math teacher while currently finishing my Masters in Statistics at CSU East Bay. I have also earned degrees in Mathematics and Statistics. I have been tutoring on and off for the past 6 years

Jacob is approved to conduct lessons through Wyzant Online. Wyzant Online allows students and tutors to work remotely via video, audio, and collaborative whiteboard tools. For more information about how online tutoring works, check out Wyzant Online.

If you’re interested in online lessons, message Jacob to get started.

I met with Jacob to go over things I needed to know for one of my math tests. We went over how to find the minimum and maximum of an equation and how to graph it. We also went over how to find the average, exact, and marginal cost when given an equation. Overall, Jacob did a very good job at making sure that I understood what I was doing and gave me the confidence I needed. I highly recommend him and am planning to hire him in the future!

Jacob helped my daughter with common core math. He was punctual, respectful, and a pleasure to have. I would recommend him to anyone needing math help. We will continue using Jacob for our daughter's math needs.

learned 2 sample, paired repeat -measures t-test and 2 sample independent t-tests and other calculations. Learned deduction, logic and statistical calculations. mean of differences between two samples and or populations

My son has always enjoyed the math classes with Jacob so he has already started covering other topics as well. Great results.

Tutor time with Jacob is never a waste of time. He helps me really understand the material. Statistics is very challenging and hard for me to decipher but he finds ways and simple examples and explanations for me to understand it. I highly recommend Jacob and will use him again in the future!

We did not want our teen to forget everything he learned in math over the summer break so we decided to enlist the help of Jacob to keep his skills current and brush up on the subjects he needs some help with. Jacob is professional and teaches in a way that makes math fully understandable. He seems quite competent in mathematics and always shows up for his appointments on time. Our kid said that one hour with Jacob feels more like 10 minutes. He has never said that about a math class before.

Jacob was on time, professional, and he challenged me. He helped me refresh my math. I will continue to work with him.

Jacob is a perfect fit for my teenage son. They have a lot in common and my son really enjoys the peer experience. Jacob works with my son to make learning Geometry fun and less arcane. He puts the purpose behind the math facts instead of just spoon feeding rules. Maybe more of us would have liked math if we knew why and how we could use it in real life!

Jacob has a fantastic way of teaching. He was very patient and used a variety of teaching methods during the session.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

From a very young age I have played chess. I know the basic movements, names, and placements of all the pieces.

Discrete math includes logic, proof methods, and probability. I have taken a semester long course in logic and proofs, a course in number theory, and several courses in probability theory at the undergraduate level at Sonoma State University. I have a Bachelors degree in Pure Math and Statistics. I have taken two graduate level Probability courses at CSU East Bay.

I am a young person who knows how to use a computer well. I know how to use Microsoft word, email, and any online site. If you need general knowledge about using the computer or internet I can help.

I have played an instrument since I was 8 years old. I can read and teach general music reading in treble clef and bass clef. I know the what the markings on sheet music mean, as well as, all of the note names. I can teach the order of sharps and flats also.

I know the trumpet inside and out. I have played the trumpet since 5th grade. I have played in the school concert band, as well as, outside experiences, such as the bi-county honor band, youth symphony and now I play with the college orchestra.
