Swarthmore College (Biochemistry)
Stanford University (Enrolled)
My name is Steven, and I am a recent graduate of Swarthmore College, a small liberal arts college located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, where I majored in chemistry and minored in biology. Throughout my time at Swarthmore, I garnered extensive experience tutoring chemistry, biology, and mathematics. Specifically, I have tutored General Chemistry, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, High School Chemistry, Geometry, Algebra I, and Algebra II. My work as a tutor was recognized by the chemistry faculty at Swarthmore with the departmental service award in my senior year.
I am currently attending Stanford University for my PhD in Biochemistry where I research noncoding RNAs and enjoy teaching students from the bay area in a wide array of science and math topics.
I love teaching, I'll work very hard, and I hope you'll choose me as your tutor!

Steven was able to quickly build a rapport and trust with my daughter. Solid knowledge of the subject matter. Very good and questioning to ensure she is grasping the concepts.
His mathematical background really helped with the understanding of Chemistry . He was very helpful and made the concepts easier to understand. Excellent Tudor !
We had our first tutoring session with Steven for AP Chemistry and his collaborative style of tutoring really engaged my son in understanding the Chemistry assignment. He is very professional and had a great with rapport with my son. Thanks Steven!
Steven was super easy to work with and so patient with all my questions about his background. He was honest about his experience level for Geometry and went above and beyond to make sure prior to the first session that he could be helpful. It was a great first session and we look forward to more!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
