Bio

My name's Harold and I have started tutoring semi-recently and while I don't have a ton of time doing this I have come to enjoy it and have grown passionate about tutoring. For now, I volunteer as an English tutor at my local library's Adult Literacy Center. I help adults who for a variety of different reasons have not mastered aspects of the language or need assistance learning more or building confidence.

I also have a deep appreciation of the English language, even with its complexities and fickleness. It's something beautiful and grand when used properly and carefully. I also enjoy History and how interesting it all is, while on the same token how irony permeates deep. I'm also a fan of the simple things in life like reading, writing, watching television/movies, and enjoying other mediums of entertainment. The seriousness and hopefully the boring aspects of my personality just stay in writing like this.

I graduated with a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, a background that I believe will lend itself greatly in my tutoring endeavors. During my studies I had to complete a large amount of reading and writing which further built up my skills when it comes to, you guessed it reading and writing. And while English wasn't my native language it is something I learned easily and have a high proficiency in. I fully understand how tricky the complexity and fickleness of the language can be to even native speakers, something that has instilled me with patience and an appreciation of it. Also during my off time, I enjoy reading books and news articles and enjoy writing fiction.

I'm a native Spanish speaker who is fluent in the language and is able to read, write, and speak it. I practice and use Spanish every day to communicate with my parents and some of the students I tutor when I volunteer.

If any of this interests you feel free to contact me so we could figure out if we are a fit and decide on a schedule. Thanks!
