My name is Stephen N. and I have been teaching elementary special education for the past 19 years. In that time, I have been a Specialized Academic Instructor in RSP and Special Day Classes and worked with a wide variety of students with various disabilities. Those disabilities include: Specific Learning Disability, Autism, ADD/ADHD, Other Health Impairment, Auditory/Visual Processing Disorders and Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This has given me a wide breadth of skills that has helped students achieve their goals and become more successful learners.
I enjoy spending time with my wife and college aged sons. We often like to go hiking, backpacking, skiing, and sailing, as well as travelling to interesting places. Another hobby that I love to do is metal and wood working. I find that all these activities help to balance my life and make me a stronger educator and person in general.

I have been teaching/supporting standards based math, such as Pearson EnVision, both in the classroom and in a pull-out environment for 19 years.

I have experience with Read Naturally, SIPPS, and Sonday (addresses Dyslexia) programs in my RSP classroom and I support programs such as Benchmark, Houghton Mifflin and Holt in the general education classroom.

Patience is paramount when working with students with learning differences. I understand that not all people learn the same and for some students there needs to be an exploration to find what works for that individual. I possess a keen understanding of that concept and I will make every effort to meet that child's needs on an individual basis to help them succeed to the best of their abilities.

If your child is needing that extra help with their education, I am an experienced, skilled educator that is willing to find the connection that works for them. Please contact me and get to know me better.
