I have decades of experience as an instructor, lecturer, and editor in the fields of art history and the visual arts. I have advanced degrees from two universities (University of Massachusetts, Amherst and Columbia University) and have taught a wide array of courses at institutions including Columbia University, Smith College, Hofstra New College, Connecticut College, Storrs. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students.
