Cal State Northridge (Music Composition)
I am a Composition Scholar at California State University Northridge, rated as one of the best film score composition universities in the world. There, I worked on numerous award-winning projects and senior theses for film festivals at USC and UCLA, with my work premiering in International Film Festivals in Korea and Australia.
I was also the recipient of the 2016 Igor Paltsev Scholarship Award awarded to emerging composers who demonstrate the strongest potential. Having studied under the tutelage of orchestrators Neal Desby (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Benoit Grey (Assasin’s Creed: Brotherhood) and composer Scott Glasgow (Captain America: Civil War), I have garnered a plethora of experience producing for a variety of genres and media outlets.
If you're serous about composition, I can help take your skills to the next level, whether it be orchestration, conducting, and even music production (from recording, mixing, etc). If you choose to study with me, you will have opportunities to get your pieces played by string quartets, bands, and possibly orchestras as well!
As for teaching experience, I have taught all levels of music theory, piano, and guitar for the last 5 years. In college, I was President and Founder of a highly active music teaching organization, that garnered over 30+ active members a week. We helped and tutored all students of all ages (from 9 to 65 years old), in musical theory and with instruments. I have helped all of my students achieve their goals, whether they have been: achieve higher grades, become proficient at an instrument, or even to just play as a hobby!
I can easily provide references and I am positively sure I can help you and your needs with music, as well as making it a fun learning experience! :) I'm a very open, kind, and patient person, and aim to teach in a way that is both engaging and efficient. I love what I do and I love what I teach, structuring complex information to be more easily understandable.
I'd love to work with you and your specific needs and am looking forward to an exciting time! Shoot me a message!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have received a full scholarship for Music Composition at Cal State Northridge. My main focus and concentration lies with media composition or music in Film, TV, and Videogames. I have studied the traditional guidelines of western classical composition under orchestrators Neal Desby(Guardians of the Galaxy and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) and Benoit Grey(Spiderman 2). I am more than familiar with the traditional rules of harmony and four part writing, along with orchestration, counterpoint, and other musical techniques of composition. I'd be happy to help you in all aspects of composition, whether it be through the theoretical approach or the digitized one(using DAWs and recording, mixing, and mastering film scores). I'm happy to help!
I have taken and aced all levels of musicianship at California State University, Northridge. Musicianship courses are courses that help develop your ears and your ability to comprehend sound. I've tutored many of my own peers and classmates in this subject and have helped them ace their classes. Ear training courses would include topics such as: interval, chord quality (if the chord is major, minor, diminished, seventh, and so forth), and scale recognition, etc.
I've played guitar for well over 7 years, and have taught a wide variety of people how to play. This includes people from ages 6 to 70. I teach students essential theory that leads to a better understanding of the instrument overall and most importantly, how to recognize patterns that appear to become progressively harder the more you know! It's quite a fun instrument, and I'd be happy to work with you on having a full and enriched experience with the guitar!
I am a music composition major at Cal-State Northridge. I have experience teaching piano, guitar, harmony/theory, and musicianship. I have taken all courses of Music History as part of my major requirements for a music degree.
I have aced all classes, and had the highest grades in all of my classes. History is also an interesting subject as it is indeed the key to the past and to learning about the greats that came before us. Learning about history helps the student develop a more profound understanding of how music transformed into what it is today.
I have received a full scholarship for Music Composition at California State University. Through my college career, I have managed to ace all of my theory classes and also garner an extensive amount of tutoring experience. I was the president and founder of a college organization that taught all levels of music theory to all types of adults. I have 4 years of tutoring experience. I teach theory in a systematic way that is also concise and easy to understand, incorporating the elements of sight-singing, theory, and musicianship into all of my lessons.
I've played piano for 6 years and have studied under numerous prestigious professors. I am now under instruction of Jason Stoll (Julliard) a piano instructor at Cal-State Northridge, and continue to hone my craft as both pianist and composer. I have also taught this instrument for the last 4 years and continue to enjoy doing so. I'd love to show you the ways of the piano!
