I have always had a passion and love for teaching and tutoring anyone who wants to learn something new. The feeling that one gets when a student has a "light bulb" moment and the material just clicks for them is indescribable. I strive every time for that "click," driven by the desire for every student to realize their own potential and really understand that their capabilities are limited only by their minds. As a private tutor in the past, I have always felt that everyone has the capacity to learn absolutely anything as long as they are ready to put in the hard work, time, and dedication to really learn the material. That being said, I also understand that every student learns in their own unique manner. I have become quite adept at quickly picking up and understanding that uniqueness for each of my students, tailoring the lesson plans for each student accordingly. With that, I like to plan my lessons to keep my students challenged and engaged with the material, but also keep them in check and make sure that they are not moving forward too quickly in any coursework. Almost all subject matter requires that the previous work's foundation is strong before moving forward. In that spirit, I will assign homework if/when it is necessary, and I will assess the student's familiarity with the material through frequent assessments, occasional quizzing, and periodic progress reports. I will work with the student and the parents (if they are involved) to establish an overarching plan with an overall goal in mind (for example, achieving a better grade in a particular class or getting a better score on a standardized test) and a set of definite checkpoints where the student's growth and mastery over the material will be more formally assessed. These checkpoints will allow for all parties involved to see whether or not the tutor/tutee interaction has produced the results that are expected, and if they have not, to discuss changes that should be made and how to course-correct. I tutor students for all grade levels up to some ea

I am very well versed in mathematics, and I have built this on a solid foundation of math skills that form the base for all upper-level math. I have been successful in teaching fundamental mathematic topics to many students both at the high school and collegiate level, spanning from Pre-Algebra / Algebra I to AP Calc and at the college level starting with Calculus going up to Linear and Abstract Algebra.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

I have been tutoring a number of students in Chemistry at both the high school and collegiate level. That includes Chemistry Honors and Chem AP, and at the collegiate level, that includes Inorganic and Organic Chemistry, Structural and Metabolic Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Quantum Chemistry. As a premedical student, I have a double major in Physiology/Neuroscience and Cognitive Science, with a minor in Philosophy. A vast majority of my collegiate studies was spent focused on Chemistry. Ultimately, that lead me to a 2-summer research project at UCSF in Biological and Chemical Sciences as the lead investigator while still in college.

a very good teacher

Mayank is very patient with his students, will make you comfortable and at ease to tackle any physics college level problems, we covered a lab that was due the next day, even though he was very busy he made himself available. Also instead of going over faster and rushing like most tutors do, Mayank will take his time and will make sure you understand the concepts very well before he continues, he definitely that patience. I also like the fact he checked on me after my lab to ask me how the lab went and that shows me that he really cares about his students. After his first lessons he will be designing you a folder just for you to follow and track your progress definitely recommend to any one that wants to improve or learn the hardest or weirdest concepts of physics that can be sometimes odd for most students in college.

Great enthusiasm for Physics and helped us spur of the moment, same-day!

My 11th grade son realized he was falling behind in AP Physics and needed help. I reached out to Mayank who immediately responded and jumped in same-day. Mayank knows AP Physics course well, could give excellent context. He focuses on understanding concepts, and what stood out to us is his enthusiasm and warm demeanor.

Excellent Tutor - SAT Math

We came to know about Mayak from one of our friend ( his son in Columbia Ivy now) when we were looking for a tutor for improving the SAT Math score for our son. Starting from the detailed phone discussion to get to know about student's profile, to setting the clear expectation on the class to quickly analyzing the areas where improvements need to be made to time-pressured exercise, Mayank is simply amazing! Thank you, Mayank, for all the help

Structured and knowledgeable

AP Calculus AB : Mayank gave an overview class on limits and the topic was clearly explained. He was very engaging, and had prepared before hand whatever materials were necessary. Overall good tutor.

Very cool and relatable!

Mayank is so much more than a tutor. It is truly amazing the level of attention and guidance that he provided to me and my son before the tutoring even began! He has provided guidance on school classes, helped us to get set up for online tutoring, quickly assessed my son's skill level and provided information about next steps, provided information about SAT prep services and how to focus study and even took the extra step to research current requirements for my son's High School math class. This must certainly be his passion as his level of obvious dedication to the success of students is clear! My son did not originally have interest in online tutoring but after is first session with Mayank, he said that even though he will have to adjust, he knows that Mayank can help him. That's more words than I can usually get this very cool 17-year-old teen to ever say. :) Mayank, I really look forward to working with you!!

Willing to commit time to his students

He is a great teacher that really wants for the student to understand what the lesson was about before he leaves. He will even stay late in order to reinforce the concepts.

Great AP Physics tutor

Mayank knows his stuff and, most importantly, knows how to teach. He's thoughtful, structured, plans out what to cover, and communicates well with me, My son likes his style and has helped him understand the material.
