I have always had a passion and love for teaching and tutoring anyone who wants to learn something new. The feeling that one gets when a student has a "light bulb" moment and the material just clicks for them is indescribable. I strive every time for that "click," driven by the desire for every student to realize their own potential and really understand that their capabilities are limited only by their minds. As a private tutor in the past, I have always felt that everyone has the capacity to learn absolutely anything as long as they are ready to put in the hard work, time, and dedication to really learn the material. That being said, I also understand that every student learns in their own unique manner. I have become quite adept at quickly picking up and understanding that uniqueness for each of my students, tailoring the lesson plans for each student accordingly. With that, I like to plan my lessons to keep my students challenged and engaged with the material, but also keep them in check and make sure that they are not moving forward too quickly in any coursework. Almost all subject matter requires that the previous work's foundation is strong before moving forward. In that spirit, I will assign homework if/when it is necessary, and I will assess the student's familiarity with the material through frequent assessments, occasional quizzing, and periodic progress reports. I will work with the student and the parents (if they are involved) to establish an overarching plan with an overall goal in mind (for example, achieving a better grade in a particular class or getting a better score on a standardized test) and a set of definite checkpoints where the student's growth and mastery over the material will be more formally assessed. These checkpoints will allow for all parties involved to see whether or not the tutor/tutee interaction has produced the results that are expected, and if they have not, to discuss changes that should be made and how to course-correct. I tutor students for all grade levels up to some early collegiate coursework depending on the material. For Math, I tutor in all math subjects, inclusive of most general Computer Science coursework. This includes Elementary Math, Algebra 1, 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, Math Analysis, Combinatorics / Probability, all the way up to Calculus AB and BC along with Multivariate/Discrete/Vector Calculus, and Linear Algebra. For the hard sciences, I can tutor students in the following: Biology, including Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, and any of your core Medical Science subjects; Physics, including Classical Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Astrophysics/Astronomy, and Particle Physics / Quantum Mechanics; Chemistry, including Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Structural and Metabolic Biochemistry For liberal arts and the soft/social sciences, I can tutor students in the following: English Literature, including Reading, Writing, Grammar, and proof-reading; Philosophy, including Epistemology, Metaphysics, Empircism, Logic and Logical Fallacies, Ontological Constructs, etc.; World History & American History, including Early Humans, European, Asian, and African history. I am generally available on weekdays (M-Th) from 1 PM to 1AM; on the weekends, I am available from 12 PM to 2 AM. These times can be adjusted depending on the circumstances, and I am more than happy to work with the student(s) and/or parent(s) to come up with a convenient time to meet. I will travel to meet students in person within the Bay Area (<12-mile radius from the Saratoga area). I can meet beyond that radius, but rate adjustments will need to be made to accommodate the additional mileage and gas costs. For online tutoring, I am always available to meet students through the Wyzant Online platform. For in-person lessons, a discounted, 90-minute first session is provided to establish the tutor-tutee relationship, the goals of the student/parents, and the logistical paradigm. This first session will be charged at $70 for the entire 90 minutes (discounted rate of $46.67/hour). After this initial session, I charge a base rate of $60/hour for any subsequent in-person lessons, and the minimum amount of time I allow for a single subject is 1 hour. All online lessons will be charged at $45/hour. I prorate to the nearest 30 minutes. Lessons with short notice (less than 24 hours notice) will be charged at $75/hour for all students; very short-notice lessons (less than 6 hours notice) will be charged at $90/hour. Please contact me for more details and to set up an initial 90-minute session! I look forward to helping you realize your potential and succeeding in your academic goals!

I have a double major in the biological sciences, specifically in Animal Physiology / Neuroscience and Cognitive Science with a focus in Neuroanatomical Structures and Neural Networking. This is all the while being a pre-medical student. I have a significant background in biology, spending several summers in prestigious research institutions around the country, including UCSF for two summers and one summer at UCSB performing graduate-level biological research.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

I have been tutoring a number of students in Chemistry at both the high school and collegiate level. That includes Chemistry Honors and Chem AP, and at the collegiate level, that includes Inorganic and Organic Chemistry, Structural and Metabolic Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Quantum Chemistry. As a premedical student, I have a double major in Physiology/Neuroscience and Cognitive Science, with a minor in Philosophy. A vast majority of my collegiate studies was spent focused on Chemistry. Ultimately, that lead me to a 2-summer research project at UCSF in Biological and Chemical Sciences as the lead investigator while still in college.
