Baylor University (Chemistry)
I love teaching and helping others. I have personal experience mentoring children, tutoring college athletes, and educating adults about their health and overall wellness. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Chemistry at Baylor University. Currently I have been working for Decision Sciences Medical Company as a Polymer Chemist. This Summer I will be attending PA school at A.T. Still University in hopes of one day serving and teaching others about medicine.
While attending Baylor University I discovered Chemistry came easier to me than most and pursued it as my major. The comfort level I had with chemistry lead to an opportunity to surround myself with division one athletes and enforce regulations set up by the NCAA. I love sports and this was another avenue of being involved. The subjects I tutored were general-organic chemistry and physics. I love teaching chemistry, but the best part was encouraging a discouraged student not to give up, and approach the material from alternate angles. Often I recognized my students cared much more in their work when I showed I cared in their success.
I do not profess to know every answer, however, I will do everything possible to quickly and successfully teach it. I like to prep before every lesson, so if given a list of problems, concepts, review, or subject material before we meet is preferred. My greatest strength is adjusting to the different learning styles of each individual by personalizing each lesson. I am very empathetic to those who may get distracted easily or have difficulty learning.
I love helping others and want everyone to learn to appreciate chemistry a little bit more. If you find yourself struggling or discouraged with chemistry, you're not alone. Kenneth and my daughter Ashleigh spent a lot of time together reviewing Chemistry topics at the Starbucks in Santee. Ashleigh was very excited that she finally understood the concepts. Thank you, Kenneth!!!
Highly recommend him to anyone who needs a tutor! Kenny is professional with outstanding communication skills. He explained AP Chemistry to my son with concepts that were understandable and used relatable analogies.
I've had two other tutors before Kenneth and they were both very intelligent but not able to communicate the way Kenneth does. I could tell he genuinely cares about making sure I understood how to solve problems versus just showing me how he can get the write answers.
I have been working with Kenny weekly since February. I am an older student returning to school after many years and taking basic Chemistry for the first time. What continually impresses me about Kenny is his ability to come up with ways to teach so that it makes sense to me. If I don't understand a concept, he is able to quickly think of a different way to explain it so that I am able to grasp it. He never gets frustrated or impatient. Kenny is a gifted teacher with a heart of gold. I would not be passing this class without him! Thank you Kenny!
Kenneth is an excellent tutor for AP chemistry. He is well qualified and is very prepared for each tutoring session. He is also punctual and returns messages quickly. My son really connects with Kenny and his grades in AP chemistry have improved to an A. With Kenny's help my son is confident that he can prepare for the AP chemistry exam. We highly recommend Kenny as a chemistry tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Baylor University. I have 2+ years tutoring experience in General-Organic Chemistry to college students. My focus is the success of each individual student and hope to encourage students to appreciate Chemistry a little bit more each lesson.
