Bio

I'm a retired engineer and math teacher with a love for teaching anyone who wants to learn. As an engineer, I regularly used all levels of math (from arithmetic through Calculus AB), statistics, and physics. I hold a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration. I'm a retired engineer and math teacher with a love for teaching anyone who wants to learn. As an engineer, I regularly used all levels of math (from arithmetic through Calculus AB), statistics, and physics. I hold a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration. In completing both degrees and practicing, and developing, the skills learned along the way, I've gained a greater appreciation for the many applications which math and physics can be used successfully, in professional and personal life. My experience and enthusiasm with these subjects allow me to share with and guide students in a positive, informative and constructive way.

I have been teaching students in various subjects for most of my adult life, as I enjoy helping people progress and succeed through challenging problems. I formalized my teaching certification with a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in math and physics in 2009. Since then, I've enjoyed teaching in the classroom (~ 5 years, so far), and tutoring students individually, which is the format I enjoy most of all. For anyone who wants to develop their math, or statistics, or physics skills, or who wants to achieve that next level, I'd like to help.

really helped

Craig is really good at showing the fastest, most efficient way to do a problem. I was struggling in Stats and now I’m feeling much more positive about it, even though the whole class moved online due to covid-19. Online is a difficult modality for me but, with Craig’s help, I’m getting through.

Good exampling on material

I really liked Craig. He showed up on time. He was very helpful for my upcoming test that is this Thursday. He went through each of the words in my practice review that my statistic teacher gave and he explained what each problem was and how to set it up. He explained the information to me very well and showed me some new tricks on my calculator. I would highly recommend him again for future help in my statistic class.

Great tutor and nice guy

We needed a tutor for a pre-calc college math final and Craig was great. He was on time and kept my son on task. My son enjoyed the time he spent with him and learned a great deal. He passed his test and said he wished he had Craig as his tutor for the whole class. It would have made the class so much easier to understand.

Skillful and Patient Tutor, Best in Sonoma County

Craig is an exceptional tutor. I often left my algebra classes bewildered, and when I met with him to go over the material - I always left understanding and having confidence in what I learned. I saw a 40+ point increase on my exams when working with Craig. He is very patient, knowledgeable, a great teacher, and I am convinced that he is the best tutor in the county. He makes complicated things simple. My favorite thing about him is that when I would get a tough problem, and I would complete all the steps correctly, he would celebrate that.
