I earned my undergraduate degree from Tufts University where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with awards from both the History & Classics Departments. I then achieved my Masters from Columbia University Teachers College in Social Studies Education. My whole education has revolved around writing! After I finished my Masters, I was a classroom teacher for 6 years. My days were spent grading, editing, and reading student essays and helping them improve! I now am living a more free lance lifestyle and am an Academic Tutor for all ages. I am always helping students work on their writing skills and enjoy this process very much!

Violin

Growing up, my family was all about music. My mom was a musician and my 5 brothers and sisters and I all played instruments together. It was a wild and musical household! I started the violin when I was 6 and never stopped! I have taught violin basically my whole life, starting at Songcatchers, Inc in my hometown of New Rochelle. I even ran a violin camp for early childhood violin there (So precious!) I then moved to NYC to become a classroom academic teacher and continued playing violin for school shows, wedding gigs, and church gigs. Now that I have made the move across the country to LA, I continue to play wedding/church gigs and have been in a few amateur orchestras but my true love is teaching and working with students. I especially love working with beginners as I get to introduce them to the wonders of the awesome instrument. I am also able to help with High School and Middle School level violin orchestra repertoire or skills. I was a huge orchestra player back in my school and college days so I have played most of the basic orchestra repertoire and truly enjoy helping students work on their parts so they can be confident in their groups. Anyway, violin has always been a crucial part of my life and I love to share that with others :)
