About Nathan

Hello!

I've been working as a seasoned public affairs leader drawing from a unique cross-sector and interdisciplinary approach to problem solving. I have expertise in social policy, economic development, land use, sustainable cities, transportation, nonprofits, affordable housing, and public policies to improve the quality of life for individuals and communities.

I've been an active player on the political scene from coast to coast. I served as a legislative aide in the Massachusetts State Senate before working in Boston’s Trial Court system as a juvenile probation officer. At the age of 24, I ran for the office of state representative in Central Massachusetts. With a landslide victory, I became the youngest candidate in that district’s history to receive a major party nomination.

Upon my arrival to Los Angeles, my passion for politics continued to thrive. I received my Master's Degree in Public Policy at the University of Southern California while working as a communications, legislative, and district director for the Los Angeles City Council. After working in California politics for several years, I realized that direct democracy in this state had a fatal flaw - a majority of voters admittedly have little reliable knowledge about what they are asked to vote on. I founded a website as a solution to educate the electorate and to make voting fun and easy throughout the nation.

I've been making public policies easy to understand in politics and government for 13 years. Now, it's your turn!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Political Science

I've been an active player on the political scene from coast to coast. I served as a legislative aide in the Massachusetts State Senate before working in Boston’s Trial Court system as a juvenile probation officer. At the age of 24, I ran for the office of state representative in my hometown in Central Massachusetts. With a landslide victory, I became the youngest candidate in that district’s history to receive a major party nomination.

I received a Bachelors Degree from the University of Colorado (Boulder) in political science and a Masters Degree in Public Policy at the University of Southern California while working as a communications, legislative, and district director for Los Angeles City Council.
