As a summa cum laude graduate in Computer Engineering and having a master's education in Physics, I understand what it takes to achieve good grades in the classroom and the importance of truly understanding fundamental concepts.
While teaching dozens of physics labs in grad school, I realized that individual conversations with students always facilitated the best question/answer session. I enjoy meeting students on a personal level and listening to their experience with a particular subject.
I have also worked as a computer programmer for two different companies for a couple years and have worked as an independent video game developer over the last two years.
I can help with homework problems in physics, math, science, engineering, computer programming, etc... I can also help to clear up any confusion that one might have about the fundamentals of each course.
I strive to produce the best experience for a student, and I will not bill for a session where a student is not completely satisfied with my tutoring.
I am extremely flexible with my time, and I will try my best to accommodate to your particular needs or schedule. I am only able to work in the Santa Monica area at this time. I look forward to hearing from you and playing a part in your successful academic career! Ryan is really good at trying to let you solve the problems on your own but giving you the proper help when you need it. He explained the concepts well so I could grasp them. We worked on Calculus tonight. Will definitely be using him again!
We completed a practice test for ACT college placement. It went very well. He was very informed and shows experience in tutoring.
My son was very concerned about his Physics test in college, however, after a two hour session, Ryan was able to give my son the confidence he needed to do well on his final exam. After both his two hour session, and his final exam, my son returned home beaming with a smile from ear to ear on his face. I am so relieved to have found this young man on Wyzant. He was extremely patient and thorough with his explanations. My son felt at ease and would highly recommend Ryan's tutoring services. Now I am looking to see if he will help my daughter in high school. Thank you Ryan!
Ryan is very personable and super easy to work with! Would recommend for anyone looking to study any level of Programming!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As a computer engineering graduate, I have studied a multitude of programming languages including C, C++, Java, C#, etc. I used C for a part of my wind turbine senior design project, which entailed low level integration between a micro-controller and a PC. I have programmed several video games in C++ using the Allegro video game engine (C++ is just an object oriented version of C). I also programmed in C while working for two different companies.
I first started programming in C# when I was 20 years old. I'm 28 now and most recently led a 10 month project developing a video game with Unity and C#. I've programmed in C# for college, professional, and entrepreneurial projects.
Having a bachelor's degree in computer engineering, I have been exposed to a multitude of programming languages, one of those being C++. I have programmed in C++ for the last seven years while designing video games and also while working at an ATM corporation over the course of one year. I have also spent ample time programming in C, which is very similar to C++. If you would like to learn good object-oriented design, then I would be happy to help!
I began programming in C++ when I was thirteen years old, but didn't master the trade until I revisited the subject matter at the college level, from which I eventually received my bachelor's degree in computer engineering. I have programmed in C, C++, C#, JAVA, VisualBasic, VBScript, MATLAB, Microprocessors, and many others. Also, for the last seven years I have programmed about a dozen video game prototypes and worked as a computer programmer for two different companies. I would be happy to teach the fundamentals of computer programming and share my knowledge, experience, and interest in the field!
As a computer engineering graduate, I have had ample exposure to computer science through programming in C, C++, Java, C#, etc... I have worked at two different companies where a majority of my work involved programming (computer science) and I have completed a vast array of personal programming projects. I currently design apps and video games for both the iPhone and the PC.
I have completed two years of master's level physics coursework in graduate school, and have taught twelve different college physics laboratories. I understand the difficulties of learning physics and I would be more than happy to help with any problems!
