I am a private tutor and practicing architect who specializes in Revit. Knowing Revit is essential for anyone interested in pursuing a progressive career in architecture. Revit can be very challenging to learn by reading tutorials or following along with online videos. I believe the best way to absorb Revit is by sitting down with an expert and working hands-on to learn the fundamental concepts of the program.
I've been working in Revit for over nine years in every aspect of architectural design. I can help eliminate any intimidation you may feel about the program. Revit is fun, challenging, sometimes frustrating but ultimately a very exciting, engaging and addictive program to work in. I'm comfortable working with Revit users of all skill levels on basic modeling concepts, advanced modeling concepts, family creation, template file setup, project workflow and Revit project management.
In addition to individual instruction/training my background includes leading group classes training staff at multiple architecture firms.
I also teach SketchUp which I started using many years before Revit and continue to use. SketchUp is fast, fun and extremely accessible as a beginning user.
Send me an email and I can answer any questions you have about how I can help you learn Revit or SketchUp. Hello,
I am a private tutor and practicing architect who specializes in Revit. Knowing Revit is essential for anyone interested in pursuing a progressive career in architecture. Revit can be very challenging to learn
Ryan helped us troubleshoot a complicated Revit model. In the short amount of time he spent with us we came away with a better understanding of Revit's quirks and how best to deal with them. Thank you Ryan!
I'm a first time Revit user and he was able to understand my objectives and he tailored the lesson plan accordingly, allowing me to relate to the program to suit my needs. Most software many tools that are not used by all and I'm sure Revit is the same.
In our meeting, Ryan elaborated on the fundamentals of Revit, where I wasn't able to grasp from online tutorials. He is patient and walks you through the procedures step by step and in one session was an enormous help in furthering my progress in learning Revit software more than a months worth of daily online tutorials . I would highly recommend him to anyone learning Revit.
Learned more in one two hour session with Ryan than two months at ITT. Wish I could afford his assistance everyday, I would be a pro in a few months.
I have had several sessions with Ryan, and have been able to work through some of the most complex aspects of Revit. Ryan is extremely knowledgeable and a talented teacher. I recommend him to anyone needing to learn Revit.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a bachelor's degree in architecture from Kansas State University. I have 15 years of experience in the field of architecture, and I'm a licensed architect in California. My current role is that of a project manager/project architect. My responsibilities include all aspects of project delivery for large scale buildings. Those responsibilities include conceptual design, design development, construction drawings, structural and mep consultant coordination, client communication, presentations, etc. My expertise is BIM documentation using Revit. I have completed projects in the following building types - single family residential, higher education classroom/office, research laboratory, performance halls and convention centers.
I was trained in Revit by LACad in downtown Los Angeles in 2005. Since then, I have used many different versions of Revit nearly every day to design and document architectural designs. I currently use Revit 2014 to produce conceptual design, schematic design, design development and construction document phase models and drawings for an architectural firm. I have been involved with developing interoffice Revit standards for three separate architectural firms. My current responsibilities at work include managing large multi-builidng linked file Revit models by policing them for modeling technique, organization and troubleshooting, designing and documenting 100 million dollar plus building projects, assisting with the implementation of Revit on other projects throughout the firm, training team members on Revit and coordinating Revit models from structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, civil and landscape consultants. I am also a licensed Architect in California.
