I currently live in Sacramento and teach Latin at John Adams Academy in Roseville. I graduated from Boston College with a Master's in Secondary Latin Education. Prior to that, I graduated UC Davis in the spring of 2010 with a B.A. in Comparative Literature. I have produced many essays throughout my college career, many of which were over 10 pages in length. When it comes to literary analysis, organizing a great essay, and improving your writing skills overall, I'm your guy.
I also have extensive experience tutoring math and helping students to prepare for SATs and/or improve their grades. Please contact me if you would like information about references.
As for foreign languages, I speak Italian, read & write German, and have spent over a decade studying Latin (Vergil, Catullus, Horace, Ovid, Cicero) and Ancient Greek (Homer, Thucydides, etc.). I would be happy to tutor in those subjects as well. I currently live in Sacramento and teach Latin at John Adams Academy in Roseville. When I am looking for a tutor, I often look for a person who is patient and calm in their approach to teaching. Giorgio is both. I am not afraid to ask him questions when I am puzzling over something. He clearly knows what he is talking about whenever I ask questions about Latin translation and scansion. He is a master in Latin. I am currently translating the Aeneid by Virgil, and from previous tutoring sessions, I've seen that Giorgio can easily bust out an accurate translation of the material without having to flip in the glossary or reference anything (I'd italicize "anything" if I could). So, if you're looking for a Latin teacher, he's your guy. You won't regret it. -Mark's daughter.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
