I only tutor in French. I think it's important to put the language in its context, and not just teach a string of words or rules of grammar. I use visuals and interactive techniques to teach the language. The goal of most people who want to learn a language is to learn to communicate on basic things, not to have a lengthy conversation with the locals. I take this into account.
I also have experience teaching French to younger kids at the elementary and middle school level (I taught my own daughter).

My rates are different for groups. I ask $5 more per person from my basic rate, if they are the same level.
I really enjoy Sandrine. She is always on time and her lessons are inclusive. We go through reading, dictations, grammar, and frequently used sayings in French.
Sandrine was very thorough and provided exactly what my high school senior was looking for. She was easy to work with and understood her goals. She looks forward to working with her again and thought she was excellent.
Sandrine is an excellent teacher and tutor. My daughter enjoys her style of teaching, and is making great progress in her language learning. Sandrine uses several teaching techniques to engage her intellect and motivate her learning. We are very pleased with Sandrine, and highly recommend her.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
