College of The Canyons; A.S.- T Mathematics (Mathematics)
I am a college student majoring in mathematics at University of California Santa Cruz. I have recently achieved an A.S.- T in Mathematics from my former college. I am also the former president and founder of my college Mathematics Club. I have 5 years of tutoring experience. I have passion for math and tutoring, and I help my students accomplish their goals in a much more efficient way than if they had to study alone.
I work well with both children and adult students, and I make sure my students understand the problems and become effective problem solvers. I work with each student to achieve the best possible results. My goal is to help my students understand the Math concepts, become good in problem solving, and get good grades at School and in College. In order to get good results I will first assess the student's knowledge and then I will help the student master the material he/she needs to learn.
Some more about me; my dream is to become a college mathematics professor and to research and discover more applications using Matrix theory in the 11th dimension to finally unlock String Theory and help prove Einstein's Unified Field Theory! I am in love with mathematics and from the moment I wake up, until it is time to go to sleep, I am studying math, in class lecture learning new math, or with my students tutoring math. Math is my life, and my students are a reflection of my passion.
"Did we really just spend 3 hours doing AP Calculus-it feels like we just started!?"
-A student of mine I am a college student majoring in mathematics at University of California Santa Cruz. I have recently achieved an A.S.- T in Mathematics from my former college. My son is 11 and in 6th grade. Ryan has been tutoring him for 2 1/2 weeks now. I have noticed that my son's attitude toward math (prealgebra) has changed. He looks forward to his tutor lesson each week. My son doesn't need to raise his hand because he's confused since he has started tutoring. Ryan has been great with him, makes it fun, but builds his confidence at the same time. And although his level of math knowledge is extensive, he uses terms and language that an 11 year old can comprehend. I am very much looking forward to seeing how much my son will progress in the upcoming months.
Ryan has been working with my son for a total of 3 weeks and we have seen dramatic improvements from the very first lesson! My son dreaded math and has fought the lessons and homework for over a year. This all changed when Ryan started working with him. Now my son looks forward to his weekly lessons with Ryan and is eager to show Ryan what he has worked on during the week and how much progress he has made with Ryan's help. Ryan speaks a special kind of math language that translates well to my 5th grader's brain! Thank you Ryan!!
Today is my son's first tutoring session with Ryan. He help Matthew with Precalculus, they reviewed what my son had learned the past three weeks since school started, went over homework assignments and problems my son was struggling with. We were very impressed with how Ryan was able to build up my son's confidence in Precalculus in such a short time. It is totally apparent that Ryan is on fire with Math, and I'm so glad that fire and understanding transcended to my son. After their session, my son told me "Ryan was the best Math tutor he had." Ryan did a great job with Matthew tonight. Ryan was knowledgeable, patient, and caring, The best part of all, I noticed my son was very focus during the entire time and his stress level with Precalculus was gone at the end of the session. Thank you very much Ryan.
Ryan made the sessions so much fun and was extremely positive and encouraging. He is extremely reliable and thorough. We loved his upbeat personality and just his overall kindness. We give Ryan a 5 star PLUS!
Ryan was very professional, showed up on time, and really helped my son on his math. My son is studying for the ASVAB for the Navy, and Ryan was extremely helpful.
Ryan made sure that I fully understood the methods and reasons behind the formulas for Algebra 2. He help me feel confident and more prepared for my test. I would definitely recommend him!
I would not have been able to pass without Ryan. He was able to help me through the advanced levels of geometry
Ryan is nothing short of outstanding. My grandson learned more in two hours than in his class at school.
Ryan provided all the necessary help for my grandson to take a very difficult test and pass with flying colors. He did great!
Ryan provided nothing short of outstanding lessons. He has is the best.
I would highly recommend Ryan A. He was extremely patient with me and he is extremely knowledgeable in math and algebra. He has a real gift for explaining things and he helped me get through and pass Math 102.
Ryan is helping me with the math on my GED. He is a very good tutor. He is patient with me, and he explains it in a way I can understand the math. Anytime I text him, he responds in a timely matter. I feel very confident that I am going to pass my test with Ryan as my tutor. I would highly recommend Ryan!!!
This was my daughter's first time having a tutor so she was a little concerned going in. She left the session with a big grin and tremendous confidence. Ryan seems to have a definite gift to help the student understand the subject. Very pleased.
Ryan is an excellent math tutor! He knows most of the subject matter very well. When he did come across a few unfamiliar concepts in AP Calculus, he was honest about it and found the resources he needed to understand the concepts and then help daughter grasp them, also. With just a few tutoring sessions, my daughter felt that she had a much better grasp of the concepts and had much more confidence going in to the AP test.
Ryan is easygoing, makes things easy to understand, and often gives a few different tips to help solve complicated problems. He also goes above and beyond to ensure success for the student. In order to prepare for our tutoring sessions, he sought out many valuable resources that were very helpful. He did not just come in expecting to rely only on his knowledge and his particular teaching style, but had other resources to draw from in order to provide the best possible tools for learning (no matter what learning style the student may have).
If you are looking for a great math tutor - especially for Calculus (it is hard to find qualified tutors for Calculus) - I would HIGHLY recommend Ryan.
Ryan works with both my son and daughter. My son has been struggling for several years now. He has a learning disability, and an IEP. He consistently fails his tests. He has been working with Ryan for 3 weeks now. Last week my son texted me that he felt very confident about his geometry test he had just taken. Sure enough, he got 100%. Meanwhile, the rest of the class did so poorly that the teacher had to return their tests to them, to give them an opportunity to fix mistakes and help their grade. We can't thank Ryan enough. So glad we found him!
He makes the assignments easy to understand and fun to learn. I am very happy that I have found Ryan on Wyzant.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a mathematics major with much experience in studying for the ACT/SAT examinations. I noticed that the ACT is more of an introduction based on preparing for the SAT. The ACT is very fast paced, 60 questions in 60 minutes for the mathematics portion. It contains elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, coordinate geometry, plane geometry, and trigonometry, which are all subjects I am an expert on. I am very confident in ACT math, and I strongly believe students should study the ACT first to prepare for the SAT. Whatever you may choose, I can help you prepare for the ACT College Admittance Examination.

I studied the ASVAB back when I was in high school. I was looking into branches of intelligence & defense for our country. I mastered many books and helped my friends study for the ASVAB. My friends depended on me for teaching them mathematics. One went to the United States Military Academy at West Point and one went into the army to fight in Afghanistan through high test scores on the ASVAB. I on the other hand, decided that college was the route for me. Since then I have tutored 4 people in the ASVAB all that chose the CAT-ASVAB (computer adaptive testing). They picked their careers of choice through high ASVAB scores and still to this day tell me they wouldn't be in the career field they are today without my help. I can help you prepare for the ASVAB.
I am a college student majoring in Math. I have experience tutoring my classmates, A.P. Calculus, and Calculus 2. I LOVE CALCULUS 1! It is my favorite Math subject to tutor. As an experienced mathematics Tutor, I know the struggle of SAT Math. The word to describe SAT math is "tricky." When I first began studying SAT math, I was getting stuck on almost every problem and was only able to achieve around 5-600 on the scale score range. But I kept studying it, going over problems, taking practice SAT tests from books and online, and I now score 750-800. I must have put in 300+ hours of studying just so I could tutor efficiently and correctly for the student(s). I am highly confident in SAT math, and I understand the importance of a high test score to get into the college of your choice. I can help you prepare for the SAT College Admittance Examination.
I am a college student majoring in mathematics. I LOVE TRIGONOMETRY second to calculus. I have tutored 40+ students in trigonometry. I even tutored an electrical engineer who was forced to take a computer test for his job, after 30 years. He had forgotten some of the math, and requested my help immediately. His subject material was trigonometry mixed with Periodic Waves and Phasor Analysis pertaining to electricity. I actually rejected his request at the time, since I had never tutored trigonometry before, but he said that he had six tutors before me and none of them could handle the new material and that he needed my help. So I agreed to give it a shot, and after one month together, he achieved a 98% and kept his job. He was the first trigonometry student I ever had, and I had to apply my skills to figure out trigonometric applications pertaining to real life using trigonometry with electricity! I will never forget the great feeling I felt when he called me and told me he passed his test and was able to keep his job. That was the day when I found my passion for tutoring mathematics. I can help you succeed in trigonometry.
