I have always loved helping others. For this reason, I am pursuing a career in Mathematics with a path to education. Ever since I was in high school I took every opportunity I had to be a tutor and help others on the material they did not understand. Now that I'm in college I continue practicing what I love. I have done three different internships helping students in math classes. One of them in a middle school and 2 of them at a high school.
Every time I work with a student I make sure to have the patience necessary so that the student will not be afraid to ask me to explain the steps more than once. As I was taught in my Education class, if this is not enough I try to have at least 3 different ways to explain the same question. I also try to explain the problem depending on how the student learns best which might be to explain the problem visually.
I am sure that I can be of great help to any type of student and will be very glad to hear from you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
