About Vita

I am a native speaker of Russian, teaching languages since 2001. I have two Masters and a PhD in Russian. I'm also a language researcher. Which means I know all the shortcuts to fluency and I'll share my secrets with you :-D

I am a huge supporter of the communicative approach to language. You will be surprise how much sense grammar makes and how well vocabulary sticks, when you use it in a meaningful context! That's why we will talk a lot! We will explore the language and the culture behind it through podcasts, films, literature, comics, news and much more! We'll play games and chat about everyday things, you won't notice how quickly you will start speaking Russian.

Let me know what you think and join in!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Russian

I have a BA in Russian language and Literature, MA in Teaching Foreign Language, and MSc in Psychology of Language. I am also a native speaker of Russian.

Highly recommended Russian tutor

Wyzant sends me an email asking me to rate my tutor after every lesson. However I thought it best to experience a number of lessons before formulating an opinion and writing a review. I've had about 5-6 Russian lessons with Vita now and would highly recommend her to anyone. I'm a "math and science type" so I like to learn the grammar terms and rules. It's rare for a native speaker to have full kno
