I've worked as a tutor for over 8 years, both at the high school and collegiate level. Currently I'm a high school math teacher, so I'm extremely familiar with the math curricula taught in high schools.
My areas of expertise are in Algebra and SAT Math, as I personally wrote the Algebra I, II and SAT curricula for the tutoring company I work at. Every single one of my Algebra students have improved by at least one full letter grade, and my SAT students have all surpassed either their previous score, or their target score.
In addition to the above, I've:
-Ranked 99th percentile in SAT Math (perfect score)
-Ranked 99th percentile in SAT II Math Subject Tests (perfect scores)
-Ranked 98th percentile in ACT Math
-Taken and passed the CSET (California Subject Examination for Teachers) Multiple Subjects I, II & III with a perfect score across all Math sections
-Hold a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Math
I communicate easily with any student, whether it be a review of math fundamentals or enrichment to stay ahead of the curve. My aim is to not only provide students and parents with the best bang for their buck, but with the best bang, period. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
