Back when I was obtaining my undergraduate degree, I was also a librarian for those 4 years and absolutely loved it. I have always loved reading and literature, but being a librarian led to a new appreciation of books as well as a love of helping people find the answers they were seeking. My favorite part about being a teaching assistant, or being a librarian was the satisfaction of seeing the look of understanding come across the face of the student.
On a more personal note, I have also been a nanny for almost 6 years with varying ages of children. As part of being a nanny, I helped the children with their homework or helped teach them skills. I have nannied children aging from newborn up to the age of 12. I have enjoyed this work so much and I love being able to see the growth that occurs.
I have excelled at the subject of English my entire school career and have a love of books, reading, and literature. As a teaching assistant, I regularly proofread student's submissions and generally guide them on paper writing. As a librarian, It was imperative to be up to date on MLA and APA formatting in order to write papers or theses.
I love working with kids and spelling is such a fun subject for me. I used to struggle with spelling but I found different ways to make spelling easier for me. I used mnemonics, different songs, or just different and fun ways to learn spelling in order to learn more effectively.
