I received my Bachelors degree in music from Cal Poly in 2010 with a concentration in piano performance. While at Cal Poly, I performed with the Cal Poly Wind Ensemble and the Cal Poly Symphony Orchestra as a pianist and harpsichordist. I also took advanced courses in music theory and history, and I worked as a tutor in the department's music lab. I've worked as an accompanist and private piano teacher for the past 8 years, and I currently teach students between the ages of 5-21.
I currently am a PhD candidate in the music department at UCSB. My concentration is in musicology, and I have completed all coursework in history and theory. In addition to working as a teaching assistant for the department's Music History series, I also taught as the instructor of UCSB's 450-student Music Appreciation course.
What I enjoy most about teaching/tutoring is being able to share my passion for music with others.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
