I do have much experience with coaching athletics. Coaching is one of my lifelong passions. Coaching is no more than teaching and tutoring a person on how to move. Likewise, a subject tutor is no more than a coach for learning study material. I feel that tutoring and coaching are in essence the same thing, except in different subject areas.
I received my degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science as well as my Chiropractic degree with an emphasis in sports and biomechanics. Both degrees combined were anatomy intensive. My understanding of anatomy became increasingly important in graduate school for me because of my emphasis. Without know the ins and outs of anatomy you can't fully comprehend human biomechanics.
I excelled in swimming water polo and volleyball. I played volleyball up to the high school level because I wanted to continue more so with my swimming and water polo careers playing Division I, although I excelled equally in all three. As, for Track and Field, I ran from 6th grade into my first year in high school.
As a certified strength and conditioning specialist I can fundamentally apply conditioning concepts to track and field or any sport for that matter. Swimmers are widely known to have the best conditioning of most athletes and can benefit from a swimmers training. That is to say, swimming conditioning concepts can be taken from the pool and applied on land to a variety of sports.
Volleyball is a sport that requires a lot of conditioning and power not only to jump high and hit hard but also to move side to side and react. I believe if technique fundamentals are emphasized and perfected, everything else will come with easy, but only if hard work is put in early on.
I am currently taking a limited schedule but will do my best to accommodate the best I can. I love playing sports, which is why I love to help in athletic development, so that I may pass on that passion to someone else. My love for playing sports and having fun doing them has shown to have the best results. After all, if you are not having fun, you are not putting in everything you have into learning your favorite sport. Because of my love for sports my anatomy has improved because I can see which muscles are emphasized in each sport. I can visualize how each group of muscles work together and can conceptually convey that to athletes and students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
