Hello! My name is Anna and am currently an undergraduate student at Chapman University. I am in the process of getting my bachelors in their Integrated Educational Studies program and a Bachelors in Mathematics. I plan to be a math teacher and am currently employed at a local tutoring center. I have three years of tutoring experience and absolutely love what I do. I am a firm believer in finding out what method is best for each student. Every student is different and learns best when presented in a way they can easily understand. I like to incorporate creative learning styles to help with long term comprehension.

Anna is very patient and explains math concepts in a way my kids can easily understand and apply. Their scores and confidence have gone way up since working with her.
Anna explained herself very well, which made it easy for me to understand. She was very patient and kind to my learning.
With Anna's help my daughter has gone from dreading math to being excited. Anna is patient and very positive. Her influence has been a gift for us.
Anna's ability to help my son grasp Algebra concepts has been exceptional. His homework's gone from Fs to A+s because of Anna's approach to teaching. We couldn't be happier.
Anna has tutored my twin grandkids twice and they really enjoy her attitude and patience. She is fun, encouraging, and patient. It's too early to see dramatic changes, but a definite improvement in their attitude towards math. The twins look forward to her sessions on Mondays.
5-11-14 Update: Anna has helped the twins greatly. Both report cards were showing they were performing below grade level. Their recent progress report shows great improvement and grades showing above average performance.
This is my second review of Anna. Anna gets the math concepts across in a light & positive manner, with lots of praise. I feel that my daughter has a much better attitude to math now & is gaining confidence in a subject that she has not enjoyed previously.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been tutoring elementary age children for three years. I have worked with students in every grade from kindergarten to sixth grade in every subject. I love working with children and have an excellent understanding of elementary school material.
I am currently studying to become a teacher. I have taken classes specifically designed to teach in a way that students will be able to learn and remember the material. Some strategies I find particularly helpful for studying techniques include: making the information applicable and personal for the student so they can relate to it, study the information in way the causes the student to process information at a deep level, using mnemonics, and studying appropriate amounts of time so the student can be focused and engaged the whole time.
