I have lived and worked abroad as a researcher and field archaeologist, first in Chianciano, Italy, where I supervised the excavation of an Augustan bath complex, and more recently at the American Academy in Rome.

While at UCLA, I served as the instructor of record for their intensive summer Latin program, as well as the year long introductory Latin sequence. I was also a teaching associate for classical mythology, Roman civilization, Greek civilization, and cinema and the ancient world, a reception studies course that explored the depiction of ancient Rome in modern cinema.

At the University of Arizona, while pursuing my master's degree, I taught introductory, intermediary, and honors Latin.

In total, I have over seven years' experience serving as a researcher, lecturer, and academic adviser.

I accept students at all levels - beginning, intermediate, and advanced - and I encourage you to get in touch if you are looking for assistance with any of the following subjects: Latin, ancient Greek, ancient Mediterranean history, archaeology, or academic writing.

I look forward to working with you!

Archaeology

I am a trained archaeological field supervisor, having participated in the excavation of a Roman bath complex in the locality of central Chianciano known as Mezzomiglio. I am primarily interested in classical archaeology. While pursuing my master's degree in Classics, I also did a stint abroad at the Classical Summer School of the American Academy in Rome. This was an intensive introduction to Rome and its environs. Through guided tours of the significant monuments and museums in the city, I became acquainted with the topography of Rome, construction materials and techniques, trends in Roman art, and the major types of public and private buildings. I also took part in autoptic assignments which trained me to analyze uncontextualized remains.

Excellent tutor for Classical Greek

Hunter does a really good job of explaining the complexities of Greek verbs; not an easy topic! Despite my repeated errors, he manages to remain patient. I am hoping to become a better student.
