I have an A.S. in Commercial Music degree. I have been teaching, playing and touring for over 20 years. I received the IAJE (International Association of Jazz Educators) award for Jazz Drummer in 1993. I have been a pit musician for over 2 dozen musicals and shows, Chamber singers and Choirs. I have been a church staff drummer and bass player for 15 years and taught and conducted youth band. I am a former Music teacher at Encinitas Country Day Private School, in addition to summer band camp director. I have extensive club and venue experience including Coors amphitheater, House of Blues in San Diego, the famous Fillmore in San Francisco and the Southern Comfort Tour with many styles of bands (Jazz, Rock, Country, Etc.). I am a former member of the band Holiday and the Adventure Pop Collective which received best Americana Band in San Diego nomination 2 years in a row. I was a former drummer for the world famous band LIQUID BLUE. I work well with metronomes and sequences. I have many sessions I have recorded and many albums. I can also arrange and write music. I can sing lead and harmonize. I work well with other musicians, take orders well and a have a very good ear for musical intuition. I was accepted to Berklee College of Music and Miami College of Music both with scholarship.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
