She studied different textiles techniques at secondary school, including batik, dying and stenciling, and silk painting. She also received accreditation for her creative skills in a variety of media, including painting and photography, upon completion of the CAPE (Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations).

Kathleen moved to California in 2007 to continue her education in art and received two BFA degrees in Pictorial Art and Photography. She began working for non-profit organizations, such as MACLA & EdventureMore, educating and inspiring creativity in youth of varying ages at after school programs and summer camps. Kathleen started teaching at Rainbow Art studio in 2012, and it was this experience that showed her fulfillment when students achieved their creative and academic endeavors.

Kathleen recently graduated from the Master of Fine Arts program at San Jose State University. Here, she taught a beginning darkroom class that explored traditional Gelatin Silver printing methods, an intermediate level class that explores alternative 19th photographic processes, and she is currently teaching a beginning digital photography course.

Kathleen also maintains her studio practice and has exhibited in galleries in and out of state, such as Linus Galleries, and the De Young Museum. She hopes to continue to inspire creativity in her students.
