UC Berkeley (Legal Studies)
I attended UC Berkeley, the #1 public University in the world, where I tutored classmates in English and writing. I was hired based on my academic performance, leadership capabilities, communication skills, and passion. I helped students improve course performances from as low as D’s to A’s. I always make it a point to not only academically inspire my students, but also get to know them. I care about all of my clients and want to see them succeed. I have spent over 200 hours tutoring professionally and visit schools all around the Bay Area to discuss the importance of nurturing your minds. I’ve worked at a nonprofit throughout school called K to College which operates the largest charitable school and dental supply program in California. I’m an advocate for equal access to education for every student. I’m a college advocate with full intention of getting all my students excited about their future.
I have experienced, individualized, and group tutoring for students in areas of career development, college counseling, English, proofreading, public speaking, reading, and writing. I can work with your student to guide them towards school activities and prepare them for college. Cultivating them through the college application process can be daunting, but I can alleviate that stress by working with them to perfect their personal statements and empowering them for what’s ahead.
As a UC Berkeley alumni, I took and passed the AP English, AP Literature, AP U.S History, AP World History, and AP Government exams. I also scored in the top 90% of students in the SAT exams. I’ve helped over a handful of students get into their top choice schools. I inspire, inform, and guide students through the application process by outlining deadlines and figuring out specific ways to originally portray themselves in their applications. I have the knowledge, experience, and communication skills to tutor students to stand out in front of top Universities.
I was a full-tuition scholarship recipient while attending UC Berkeley which rewarded low-income, first-generation college students who demonstrated leadership, high academic performance, and community service throughout their high school career. I can help your students look for scholarships, join community service groups, and achieve academically.
As President and District Council Member of the Interact Community Service Club and National Honors Society in High School, I have immense experience with giving public speeches. I have written, prepared, and delivered speeches daily. I have also taken public speaking classes at UC Berkeley covering posture, content, and delivery. I speak in front of students each quarter about life in college so I can work with your student to get over stage fright. I will coach students to improve their public speaking skills through practice and pointers.
I currently work for Google, the #1 best company to work for, as a Talent Scout. I source, assess, and help hire top talent everyday. I can help students with career development since I know what top companies are looking for in their candidates. I have the knowledge and experience developing careers. I have helped students and professionals build noticeable resumes and prepare for interviews at Google, Yahoo, and even medical school.
Feeling empowered is the reason why I have a passion for learning and tutoring. When tutoring, I empower my students with creativity and drive to develop themselves. I constantly reassure my students and work with their style and vision. I personalize every lesson to make the most out of their potential and have fun! I’m by no means strict. My hope is to have every student finish their session feeling excited for the next meeting. Excited to show me what they’ve been working on and how they want to constantly improve. That’s my goal.

The hourly rate also includes proofreading outside of live sessions. Only subjects that need to be covered together will be in person to get the most out of the session.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I worked at the UC Berkeley MBA Career Center where I screened resumes for job postings from Fortune 500 Companies. I am aware of the career development necessary to attain desired jobs. I am also a recruiter for Google where I screen resumes and search for top talent.
I enjoy speaking to students about college, how to apply, and how to succeed. I am trained to speak to students about college from my scholarship program at UC Berkeley. As part of the requirements to maintain funding, I traveled to high schools around the Bay Area helping to encourage and inform students about applying to different universities. Part of my training program, I learned about the requirements to get into college, deadlines to apply, how to write a unique personal statement, how to be more appealing to colleges, and available fee waivers. I have visited over 30 high schools giving presentations about college and helped over 10 students with their college application process. Most of my students got into their dream school and exceeded their parents expectations. I truly enjoy seeing my students grow and make themselves proud. My college counseling style is to excite the students about college so they put more effort and time into the process.
