I was born in a small town in south China, lived and studied in different cities such as GuangZhou, ShangHai, NanJing, and HongKong, finished high school before coming to USA in 1980s.
I went through the basic fundamental Chinese education, such as read, write, and compose, along with Chinese history, economics, politics, and their relationship, how each evolved, interacted, and influenced each other.
Hence I can write Simplified Chinese (also read Traditional Chinese), speak Mandarin and Cantonese, also understand a few area dialects such as ShangHainese, FuJianese. I can tutor in above area relating to daily life, culture, history, or expand into computer field.
Since I also live and study in USA for so many years, know its culture and history, I can better explain, and precisely translate word meaning, sentence use, speaking & writing grammar difference, appropriate usage in Chinese and American cultures.
I have been translator and interpreter between Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese) and English in business negotiation, hospital medical, computer development, travel food, and home remodel over 20 years.
For years, I have been tutoring kids, young people, and older adults on Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese oral conversation, proper and custom word, sentence use and grammar, proper pronunciation according to the situation and context, writing Simplified Chinese character (use in mainland China).
I tutor base on each student's or group's need and situation, make it fun and effective, long last remember for all ages, from 3yr to 70yr age, all levels from beginner to taken several years Chinese, from one-to-one to groups of 10 students.
I use very effective textbooks for non-Chinese students, and my teaching style is tailor to these textbooks and students.
I am very organize, clean, neat, detail, patient, dedicate, responsible, and passionate to help other people learn a new skill, language, or knowledge that I know. I take it step by step, give example to help students learn, understand, and memorize the subject. I have excellent interpersonal skills, very easy to get along, and very easy to make friends with newly meet people.
I got formal training in typing English, know the rules and techniques, can type 55-57 words per minute, so I can also tutor on typing.
While attending De Anza College, I was teacher's aid in computer lab for several years. After graduation, I worked in various named companies doing computer network support, also teach computer lessons, fix computers, and sell laptop AC adapters, batteries, keyboards, LCD screens as side business until now.

I found WyzAnt by chance; but I will recommend this site to my children and friends. David is a marvelous tutor because he is very patient, accurate and more than a professional. We are so thankful for this site.
David's immense proficiency in both Mandarin and Cantonese truly make him a great tutor. My sons have seen unprecedented progress since they started lessons with him.
Tutor David is very considerate and present to the needs of our son; he is patient and goes step by step. I realized my son was more confident after his first session with David knowing he is going to master his subject. Highly recommend David.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I live in USA many years. I was an A-student in my ESL class when I learned English many years ago. I know how to learn a second foreign language effectively. I still use English daily. I know common cultures of USA, and proper use of English, and I can translate its meanings clearly to students so students don't use awkward words, grammars, or pronunciation.

I am familiar with various Internet Browsers, such as benefits and drawbacks of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, and hardware/software requirements.
I know a lot about various social/search web sites, including how to search info, use email, video chat, and watch movie at Google, YouTube, Yahoo, FaceBook, and Skype.
