Roberta does a good job of responding to questions and taking the time to logically work through problems. She brings her own books for reference just in case the school's book does not cover the section in enough detail.
Roberta took the time my daughter needed to understand the coursework. By the end of the lesson, my daughter felt comfortable moving forward on her own.
Roberta is knowledgeable tutor. This is our second year getting tutoring class with her, and my son is getting high grades in Math.
Roberta taught my son Algebra 2/Trigonometry. Roberta is a very patient tutor, she explained many concepts in detail to my son. She also listens to any suggestions that I made, for example I have asked her if she could prepare some questions and give him a test before the finals. She came up with a list of questions and gave him a test and reviewed the results with him. She sent me a detail update every week, so I knew what was she working on. I would recommend her to any students.
My daughter has severe difficulties in math and Roberta has been very patient and understanding in assessing her needs and providing support. Roberta has tutored my daughter for 2 years in both High School Algebra and Geometry. My daughter's scores are much better, her self esteem is much better, and she no longer fears going to math class. I have been very happy with my daughters progress and the support and direction Roberta has provided in math tutoring to my daughter.
Roberta will e-mail me in advance to ask what the topic of study is so that she can prepare ahead of time and maximize the time with my child. I really appreciate that kind of hard work. It is obvious that she has teaching experience.
Where do I begin to express my appreciation and the gratitude I have for Roberta E. She is excellent at teaching my daughter and assessing her needs. Roberta differentiates the instruction to how she learns best. Using language that helps my daughter comprehend the Geometry, simplifying abstract concepts, and offering multiple opportunities to practice, my daughter has not only bettered her grade, but has changed her attitude about Geometry. Roberta has often come at the last minute to support her on an unexpected quiz and has always arrived ready to teach. Roberta is kind, gentle and very knowledgeable.
Roberta is extremely patient and knowledgeable. She doesn't mind going over things until you fully understand. She can also explain things in a way where it makes sense. I wouldn't be able to get through my class without her. I highly recommend her.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
