Bio

Hi! I am a Junior at Columbia University studying History with a 3.71 GPA. I'm from San Francisco originally and love to cook and bicycle in my free time. I got a 1540 on my SAT—760 Math, 780 Reading and Writing, 99th percentile for everything. I really like teaching and have lots of experience doing it. I tutored two students from my high school every week my junior and senior year, sometimes in classes I was in, such as Calculus and Physics. I have a range of teaching and tutoring...

I have a range of teaching and tutoring experience in local public schools in San Francisco and New York. I also spent last fall tutoring two elementary and middle school students all day while they were in school online.

I got a 760 in Math on the SAT and a 760 on the Math 2 Subject Test. I took Math through Calculus in high school and have continued to engage my mathematical knowledge by taking several Computer Science classes in college. The majority of the tutoring I did in high school was in math because I really enjoyed teaching it. I believe that nearly everyone can be good at math, it's really just a matter of personal attention and the approach that one uses.

I got a 780 in Reading and Writing on the SAT, getting only 5 questions incorrect across both sections. As a History major my reading and writing skills have greatly improved since high school so I feel extremely confident in my ability to teach the Reading and Writing sections.

My schedule is extremely flexible. I am primarily looking for longer-term students, but message me and I'm sure we can work something out! I'm happy to start working with your student as soon as possible! I am also happy to provide references and proof of any statements made in my profile.
