Berklee College of Music (Music Business)
I love teaching!!! My youngest student is 3 and my oldest is in their 70's.
I teach everything from Pop, Rock, Folk, Country, Jazz, Blues, Musical Theater, Beat Poetry, Punk, Metal, R&B, Rap/Hip-Hop, EDM, and Indie Rock. In addition, I also specialize in the following ~ Professional Voice (all levels), Beginner to Intermediate Guitar, Vocal Technique, Performance, Range, Improvisation, Music Theory, Songwriting, Harmony, Ear Training, Arranging, Improvisation, Performing Techniques, Jazz Skatting, Public Speaking, and Musical Theater Training
My specialty is in helping students attain their goals ~ whether it's to be on stage winning Grammy awards, or just learning to sing and perform for fun. I have students that perform professionally and go on tour, to students that only sing in the shower!
My teaching style is to set attainable goals with the student. Depending on each individual student, lessons will center around correct vocal breathing, exercises, music theory, songwriting, guitar, acting, and learning different techniques in order to meet personal goals. Each student is taught individually and with their own personal needs as the focus.
I have been singing, acting, and performing since the age of 4.
I studied under the well-known and respected vocal coach, Donna Prypin, on Cape Cod, Massachusetts for 11 plus years. I then went on to study Opera with Don Wilkinson, of the Boston Symphony for 1 year, and with him gained excellent range and breathing techniques.
I was then accepted to Berklee College of Music, where I attended for 2 1/2 years studying under some of the world's greatest teachers. Once there, I learned extensive Ear Training, Harmony, Jazz Improvisation, Counterpoint, Arranging, Performing, Music Business, Music Therapy, and intense Vocal Instruction.
After college I went on to teach Special Education students with a specialty in using Music Therapy techniques to help students learn. I then moved to San Diego, California, where I worked as a Mental Health Practitioner for children ages 6 ~ 12, and again worked extensively with clients using Music Therapy practices.
In San Diego, I gained a following of fans through regular performance, and began my teaching career.
I released my first solo album in 2008, entitled, Mermaid Tattoos, and you can find it on iTunes.
I moved to San Francisco in December of 2008, where I have continued my teaching and performing career.
I recently returned in September 2016 from a 2.5 month music/bike tour through Canada, Washington, Oregon, and California. We traveled by bicycle, with all our equipment (NO cars), and performed 31 shows within that spectrum. Our vision was, and is, to bring awareness through music, and the arts, towards sustainable earth centered practices.
In June of 2014, I graduated with a certificate in Sound, Voice, and Music Healing, from the California Institute of Integral Studies. There I studied under Silvia Nakkach, MA, MMT, who was recently nominated for a Grammy in 2015.
After my completion in the CIIS program, I went on to travel to India and to study with Silvia in January 2015, Classical Indian Singing, Music, & Sound.
In addition to my Vocal, Guitar, and Music Coaching Practice, I also specialize as a Sound Practitioner. I love teaching!!! My youngest student is 3 and my oldest is in their 70's.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
