My goal is to improve student’s skills in math and science classes. I love tutoring because it allows me to meet new people, and help them with the subject matter. I have worked as a private mathematics and physics tutor. In addition, I have worked as a mathematics tutor for the Math Lab at City College of San Francisco. In college, I took lots of math, physics, geology, and engineering classes, which allowed me to obtain a strong background in science and mathematics. Having a good understanding on these subjects and working in the field allows me to help students better. For instance, I have developed different methods to teach students, so they can understand math and science easily.
Sometimes professors are not able to explain every single detail in class so students get confused and frustrated. I would like to help those students to find answers to their questions by sharing with them my experience in mathematics and science. In addition to my experience, I have other personal qualifications. I am a very patient tutor with students. When I tutor people, I try to break steps down for them and I show them the critical steps as well. This technique helps students to learn basic ideas so they can follow them until they are able to understand more complex ones. I am a very flexible person.
Since different students have different ways of learning and some of them require special attention, I show students how to approach math and science problems more than one way. I am an excellent team player. Working in teams is very important in Engineering, most engineering projects get done by working and communicating with other people. I have a lot experience working with others in laboratories, classrooms, and presentations. I am very caring. I care about my students and about their grades. I always make sure I provide people with answers to their question. Helping students to develop confidence in mathematics and science is one of main goals.
I have worked with different students from college, high school, and university students. I have gained enough knowledge about the subject that it allows me to help students, and explain them better.
I encourage them to become more confident when dealing with difficult subjects.
